history of crop circle; crop circle; crop; circle; crop circle story; different types of crop circles; crop circle types

Crop circles began appearing around the 1960s and '70s in England , let's say about 95% of them, and the United States. But it didn't gain attention until 1980, when a farmer in Wiltshire County, England, discovered three circles, about 60 feet (18 meters) across each, in his oat crops. UFO researchers and media descended on the farm, and the world first began to learn about crop circles. At first they were simple circles of bent-over grain stalks. Soon a new crop of more elaborate designs evolved—geometric forms reminiscent of profound mathematical theorems. By the 1990s, crop circles had become something of a tourist attraction.

In 1990 alone, more than 500 crop circles emerged in Europe. Some of these images could be as long as the length of two Titanic ships, and now there are over 10,000 of them!!! The mystery of it however is that they appear overnight, and with the sophistication and precision of these images, scientist, skeptics, and the likes have begun asking questions that had never received a satisfying and convincing answers.

Are crop circle man made?
People have come forward and explained how they created their crop circles with the use of rope and planks, but that theory doesn't quite fit for some of the crop circles out there, especially the Chilbolton crop circle. Till date, the Chilbolton crop circle stands unique.

Over the years, there's been debate about who made crop circles. Many said they were made by extraterrestrials, or aliens if you prefer. Others said they were man-made using a piece of plank and rope. Formations are usually created overnight, although some are reported to have appeared during the day. Various theories have been put forward ranging from natural phenomena and man-made hoaxes to extraterrestrials and the paranormal. While it is not known how all crop circles are formed, the most likely theory as put forth by a variety of scientists and skeptics is that all, or virtually all, of them were made by people- but there's one that truly stands-out: The Chilbolton Observatory Crop Circle! And till date no one has come out to explain how they made the Chilbolton Observatory Crop circle.

Bear in mind, crop circles remain amazing and mysterious pieces of artwork that are intricate and complex, regardless of their appreciation for how they were made or the messages they try to convey.
